Emma Wylde Perth Hills counselling , psychotherapy, and TRE Provider. Located in Mundaring, Perth Hills. Counselling for couples and individuals.

Ways I can support you.

  • It is my joy to offer trauma-informed counselling that attends to and supports the whole person. I enjoy working from attachment and polyvagal theories, exploring concerns from a holistic perspective.

I come alongside as you walk your own path and I keep step, offer presence, wisdom, silence or whatever is needed. It is your pilgrimage and I am honoured to be invited for part of the journey.

I use evidenced-based modalities, working eclectically using Narrative Therapy, TRE somatic and parts modalities.

Concerns that arise from unresolved grief and trauma can impact areas of ; identity; relationships, intimacy; mental health, anxiety; depression; spirituality and faith; and life transitions. You do not have to walk alone.

  • If you value your relationship it may be worth investing in Couple Counselling or a Wellness Check.

Research shows that by the time most couples seek professional help, the relationship has been struggling for many years. This does not have to be true for you. Support from a qualified therapist may be just what is needed to stir a new sense of wonder, respect and curiosity about the most important person and the life you share.

Working from an attachment and somatic approach with modalities from the Gottman’s and EFCT, you will better understand your unique patterns of conflict, ways to support your bodies to regulation and strategies for deeper intimacy and more. Consider this gift to your relationship.

  • TRE is a research-based practice to safely release the load of stored tension and/or trauma by engaging the body’s innate ability for spontaneous vibration and movement. It is then a wonderful tool to incorporate into your own rhythm of self-care.

Our bodies hold incredible, innate wisdom and daily, automatically respond to protect us when we sense threat of some kind - often before our ‘thinking brain’ is even aware. You may have experienced:

    • Being in relational conflict and become aware of a racing heart

    • Shaking or jelly legs after a near miss traffic incident

    • Dry mouth or ‘butterflies’ in the stomach before public speaking

Physiotherapist, Richmond Heath, Founder of TRE Australia explains, “this natural reflex is not a ‘symptom’ of stress, shock, anxiety, fear, weakness or loss of control, but one of the primary ways our body releases muscular tension, relaxes the nervous system & restores our mind & body to a calm, relaxed & balanced state.” Those practising TRE report increase in: feelings of liveness and vitality, levels of resilience, well-being and peace, creativity and performance, and reduced pain and tension.

  • Story work has huge healing potential as you integrate your birth experience into the rest of your life story. It is about making friends with the parts of you that ‘could,’ the parts that ‘couldn’t,’ and the parts that had no choice. You may find hidden strength and beauty in the pain and vulnerability of your birth experience.

Birth is a life-changing event as much as it is life-bringing. A complex array of feelings such as guilt, confusion, frustration and disappointment can be difficult to sit with, while you adjust to life with your new baby.

As a mother of five, grandmother and birth support person, I am confident to hold a safe space for you to explore and process your unique experience without judgement or shallow response.

I will also write a document for you – a keepsake of your birth experience, the shifted perspective or inner growth.

  • Everywhere I go I look for beauty and try to cultivate a grateful heart that sees the good within the challenge.

I appreciate nature, both bush and beach and I love a good sky! This joy leads me to bush and beach walk, rock hop, swim and sun.

I have always felt energised being with people and though I appreciate my own company more and more as I age, I am often in awe of the courage, resilience and beauty in every human.

I enjoy my work more than I can say and feel honoured to be walk with people on the path of wholeness and healing.
