Ways I can support you.

  • I’ve always been fascinated by people — by how we make sense of our lives, how we connect, and how we keep going through both the beautiful and the really hard stuff. Over the years, I’ve come to believe even more deeply in the power of being truly seen, heard, and supported. It’s a huge privilege to sit with people in their real, messy, courageous moments — and to walk alongside them as things begin to shift.

For over a decade, I’ve supported individuals and families through all sorts of seasons — exploring what matters to them, what feels stuck, and what healing and growth might look like. I bring a whole-person approach to this work, which simply means I consider the body, mind, heart, spirit, relationships, and the bigger picture of life around us.

Depending on your needs, I might draw on approaches like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, or TRE® (a body-based method for releasing stress and tension). But more than anything, therapy with me is about exploring and creating what feels safe, grounded, and real — where you can show up as you are.

If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, heartbroken, uncertain about who you are — or if something just isn’t sitting right — you’re not alone. You're welcome here.

You can get in touch by phone at (08) 6171 2271, email me at chelsea@wyldecounsel.com, or fill out the contact form on this website. I’d love to connect and hear your story.

  • I’m a PACFA-registered counsellor with a Bachelor of Social Science in Counselling, and I’ve completed a Graduate Diploma in Relationship and Family Therapy through the William Street Family Therapy Centre. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, whole-person approach — supporting individuals, couples, and families through many of life’s complex challenges.

Much of my experience has been in working with people impacted by co-occurring addiction, mental health concerns, and trauma. I’ve walked alongside clients navigating grief, anxiety, family conflict, identity questions, and the ripple effects of systemic stress — such as housing instability, financial hardship, or relationship breakdowns. My background in school chaplaincy, community work, and the alcohol and other drug (AOD) sector has given me a deep respect for the courage it takes to reach out for support.

In sessions, I offer a collaborative and down-to-earth space where we can explore whatever feels important to you — at your pace, and in a way that honours your values, strengths, and story. My approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic frameworks including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, and TRE® (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises).

  • I’m passionate about holistic approaches to healing and wellbeing — approaches that honour the wisdom of the body as much as the mind. After personally experiencing the powerful benefits of TRE®, I trained to become a certified provider so I could offer this somatic (body-based) practice to others on their healing journey.

TRE® stands for Tension and Trauma Release Exercises. It’s a simple but deeply effective technique that supports the body to release stress, tension, and stored trauma through its natural tremor or shaking response. These neurogenic tremors are a built-in part of our nervous system — often suppressed in everyday life, but when safely accessed, they can support deep release, regulation, and restoration.

In a TRE session, we use a series of gentle movements and stretches to safely activate this natural tremor response in a controlled way. This process helps the body complete unresolved stress cycles, discharge held tension, and return to a more grounded, calm, and connected state. One of the beautiful things about TRE is that it bypasses the need for words — it allows the body to speak for itself.

TRE can benefit a wide range of people and experiences. It’s helpful not just for those healing from trauma, but also for anyone living with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, muscle tension, emotional overwhelm, or feeling stuck in “survival mode.” It supports nervous system regulation, deepens body awareness, and creates more space internally for clarity, presence, and ease.

TRE is always taught gently and safely, at your own pace. It’s a self-empowering tool — one you can continue to use beyond sessions, in ways that support your ongoing wellbeing and resilience.

If you're curious about reconnecting with your body in a way that feels safe, intuitive, and deeply restorative, TRE might be a powerful part of your healing journey.

  • Family relationships can be one of our greatest sources of strength — and also a place where challenges can feel especially complex or painful. Whether you're navigating conflict, change, disconnection, or long-standing patterns, family therapy offers a space to explore these dynamics together.

I offer family therapy for all kinds of families — whether you're parenting young children, supporting teens, managing blended family life, or caring for ageing parents. I work with care, curiosity, and respect to help each voice feel heard and understood.

With post-graduate training in Relationship and Family Therapy, I bring a systems-informed, evidence-based approach that supports families in:

    • Improving communication

    • Strengthening connection

    • Managing conflict in healthy ways

    • Navigating transitions (such as separation, illness, grief, or change)

    • Understanding and shifting unhelpful patterns

If you're curious about whether family therapy might be helpful for your situation, get in touch!

  • Creative expression offers a gentle way to explore what may feel difficult to say. I offer creative therapy that gently integrates evidence-based counselling with expressive practices such as songwriting, singing, psychodrama, rhythm, and movement.

As an ARIA Award-winning vocalist and original songwriter (singing under the alias Chelsea Cullen for the Australian film I Am Woman), I’ve experienced first-hand the power of voice, breath, and creative expression to process, connect, release, and transform.

I work from a trauma-informed approach — creating a space that is grounded and paced according to your unique needs. I draw on the power of breath and body awareness, helping you reconnect with your body in ways that feel supportive, steady, and empowering.

As a trained DRUMBEAT facilitator, I support clients of all ages to explore emotion, story, and identity through rhythm, voice, and creative flow. No musical experience is needed.

Creative therapy may support you to:

    • Express feelings and experiences that are hard to put into words

    • Reconnect with your voice, or find your voice for the first time!

    • Gently connect with your body and breath

    • Build confidence, self-awareness, and emotional regulation

    • Process trauma and find meaning

    • Tap into joy, play, and new ways of being

Whether we work through conversation, melody, movement or stillness — this space is yours. How we work will be shaped by what feels safe and meaningful to you.
